What you'll be doing 
You will lead and evaluate clinical education that strengthens capability, supports best practice and enhances patient outcomes across Womens Health Clinics.

• Mentor and support midwives and nurses to maintain role based competencies
• Plan, deliver and evaluate education programs with management and clinical leaders
• Facilitate learning and assessment for students and new graduate midwives
• Contribute to research, quality improvement and evidence based practice
• Apply adult learning principles to meet legislative and organisational requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Midwife – Division 1). 

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Training &Assessment (TAA) qualification or Certificate IV in Workplace Training or relevant post graduate tertiary studies in education or willingness to attain same

  2. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level

  3. Extensive recent clinical midwifery experience with a sound knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice

  4. Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting

  5. Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching utilising adult learning principles

  6. Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of midwifery practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment
