What you'll be doing 
As a Clinical Midwife Specialist Grade 2, you will coordinate daily clinic activity, lead clinical excellence and champion safe, high quality woman centred care across Women’s Health Clinics.

• Lead and coordinate clinic operations and patient care delivery
• Monitor standards, conduct audits and drive quality improvement
• Mentor and coach staff while modelling best practice
• Implement Ministry of Health policies including Safer Baby Bundle
• Use data and research to improve outcomes and service delivery

Essential Criteria

  • Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  2. Holds a relevant clinical or education post registration qualification and a minimum three years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience in Antenatal Clinic.

  3. Demonstrated Senior Midwifery experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.

  4. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive.

  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.

  6. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise.

  7. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based midwifery care.

  8. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
