Clinical Midwife / Nurse Consultant - Nursing and Midwifery Simulation Coordinator - Royal Hospital for Women

The Role
The RHW Simulation Coordinator is responsible for the support, simulation equipment operation and the provision of simulation-based nursing, midwifery and medical education within the organisation, including the ongoing development, delivery and evaluation of focused clinical simulation programs.
The Simulation Coordinator is response for identifying, consulting, collaborating and liaising with stakeholders to identify specific educational needs, which can be supported using a simulation methodology.
The role identifies opportunities and coordinates to use simulation-based methodologies to develop the capabilities of the workforce to respond to current and emerging gynaecology, neonatal and maternity areas of healthcare. The delivery of simulation training will also provide improvements in patient safety, decreasing clinical risk while supporting quality improvement within maternity, neonatal and gynaecology healthcare.

Selection Criteria
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse and or midwife.
- At least 5 years full time equivalent experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition, must have approved post graduate Nursing and/or Midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which they are appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills including ability to manage projects and prioritise competing demands and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education using simulation based Methodologies.
- Demonstrated evidence of the development of relevant education courses or programs that incorporate the use of adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated evidence of high-level communication and negotiation skills with a diverse range of stakeholders to meet organisational priorities.
- Evidence of preparation of written submissions, reports and demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint presentations.
- Technological comprehension and willingness to work with a range of equipment including Multimedia and simulation technology and willingness to complete training MHL Scheduler and Reporter training.
