What you'll be doing


As a Clinical Midwife Educator, you will deliver and evaluate education that supports safe, high-quality care and workforce capability across Women’s and Newborn care.

In this role, you will lead and deliver clinical education initiatives that strengthen capability, support best practice and enhance patient outcomes across the unit.

Part of your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering targeted education programs aligned to clinical standards.

  • Mentoring and supporting midwives to achieve and maintain clinical competency.

  • Facilitating bedside teaching using advanced clinical knowledge and communication skills.

  • Partnering with leaders and clinical experts to plan and evaluate education strategies.

  • Driving quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Essential Criteria: 

 

 

Selection Criteria:

 

  1. Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and post registration qualification in the relevant speciality.

  2. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward or unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.

  3. Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.

  4. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty.

  5. Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborative and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders to provide best practice service delivery.

  6. Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
