This position is essential for the clinical and operational and organisational management of the Hornsby Child Youth Mental Health Service. You will be challenged with the variety of tasks which include both in the community and local emergency department and supported with opportunities to development. The service works closely with a network of specialist CYMHS services, including a statewide Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Inpatient Unit on site.

What you'll be doing

 
 

The position is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and administration functioning of the Hornsby Child Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) Services. This includes risk management and prioritization, working closely with RNSH ED, management of staff and creating a psychological safe workplace. The manager is expected to take a leadership and operational management role inclusive of WHS, people management, service development and quality improvement while working closely with the CYMHS Clinical Director and CYMHS Service Director. The position will participate in an on call after hours rotating roster through the CYMHS Executive

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: 

 

  1. Relevant experience in the management and leadership of child and /or youth mental health services, particularly within a community mental health setting
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality and clinical practice improvement, safety improvement programs and risk management strategies in a mental health context or Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality and clinical practice improvement, safety improvement programs and risk management strategies in a mental health context or capacity to develop this.
  3. Relevant post-graduate qualification, working towards and/or equivalent relevant experience including demonstrated commitment to professional development
  4. Demonstrated skills and capacity to monitor and manage financial cost centres
