Join Our Team! Child Care Centre Cook Wanted

Are you passionate about cooking and enjoy working with children? We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and energetic cook to join our team at our vibrant Child Care Centre. This part-time role offers a fantastic work-life balance and would suit someone semi-retired or seeking flexible daytime hours.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for 40 children per day from 0-5 years of age
  • Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Work closely with the team to accommodate dietary requirements, needs and preferences.
  • Help promote healthy eating habits in an engaging and fun way.

     

 

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in cooking, particularly in a childcare or educational setting (preferred but not essential).
  • A love for cooking nutritious meals and a passion for supporting children’s health and wellbeing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Friendly, positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood nutrition and menu planning for children in an early childhood education service.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of H.A.C.C.P. guidelines and relevant Australian Dietary Guidelines
  3. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including dealing with people from various backgrounds in relation to dietary and cultural issues
  4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
  5. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and being able to work with minimal supervision
  6. Communicating effectively with a range of key stakeholders
  7. Managing time and prioritising issues
  8. Demonstrated understanding of National Quality Framework
