About the role
As a Child & Family Health Nurse, you will be an integral member of a collaborative transdisciplinary team delivering health and development checks across the Local Health District.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting health and development checks for preschool-aged children in early learning settings.
- Providing advice, education and support to parents, carers and early childhood educators.
- Building strong relationships with early childhood education services, health providers and other key stakeholders to ensure coordinated, high-quality service delivery.
- Travelling throughout the Local Health District from your Tamworth base to deliver services in identified priority communities.
- Working collaboratively with allied health clinicians and education professionals to support positive outcomes for children and families.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about improving the health, wellbeing and developmental outcomes of young children.
- Enjoys working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and cross-sector teams.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to a range of audiences.
- Is organised, self-motivated and committed to providing family-centred, evidence-based care.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with current registration, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing.
- Current NSW Driver Licence (or equivalent), with the ability and willingness to travel across the Local Health District as required.
