The Chief Radiographer is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight of clinical operations, workforce coordination, and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on patient care and service excellence.
The Role
The Chief Radiographer is responsible for leading and managing the Radiography/ Sonography, Clerical, Revenue, PACS Administration and technical support (Orderlies) workforce to ensure the delivery of high-quality imaging services to the St Geroge Hospital. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, coordinating staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring patient safety and care are prioritised. The Chief Radiographer plays a key role in service planning, asset management, quality improvement, and supporting the integration of new technologies and practices to enhance diagnostic outcomes and operational efficiency. As a senior clinical leader, the Chief Radiographer also collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care pathways and contribute to the strategic goals of the hospital.

Selection Criteria
- Undergraduate qualification in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent with current AHPRA (MRPBA) membership & current EPA Radiation License.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including capital asset management and leading and managing organisational change.
- The ability to engage multi-disciplinary teams with the development of detailed solution design and implementation plans relating to redesign initiatives, and provide education and coaching to project teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management and Human Resources Information Systems (e.g. Stafflink) systems
- Highly developed and effective written and oral communication skills with experience in the development of executive documentation including briefs and business cases.
- Post-graduate degree in health management or equivalent, or working towards attainment.
- Previous extensive experience at Deputy Chief Radiographer or Senior Radiographer level.
