About the role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented team member to support the day-to-day operations of our Central Specimen Reception (CSR) team. In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Support Operational Excellence: Coordinate daily workflow and manage exceptions, working closely with the CSR Manager to ensure high-quality, uninterrupted service delivery in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

  • Drive Quality and Safety: Assist in process improvements, internal audits, and staff training initiatives while promoting a strong culture of quality, safety, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

  • Contribute to Workforce Management: Support staff rostering, assist in recruitment and onboarding activities, and ensure all team members are appropriately trained and assessed for competency.

  • Manage Inventory and Resources: Monitor and maintain stock levels of CSR consumables, ensuring timely ordering and availability of essential items for continuous operations.

  • Enhance Communication and Engagement: Actively participate in team briefings, staff meetings, and internal communication strategies to maintain a well-informed and engaged workforce

About you

To thrive in this role, you will be an experienced and motivated team leader with a strong customer service focus. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Pathology Experience & Technical Skills: Relevant qualifications and/or hands-on experience in a pathology pre-analytical processing environment, with demonstrated proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems and MS Office.

  • Leadership in Service Delivery: A proven track record in leading teams within a high-paced service setting, including the ability to manage workflows, prioritise competing demands, and drive performance outcomes.

  • Customer-Focused Mindset: A passion for delivering outstanding customer service, with the ability to identify and implement service improvements that enhance patient and client experiences.

  • Excellent Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external.

  • Commitment to Quality & Compliance: A detail-oriented approach with the ability to follow established procedures, maintain compliance with organisational standards, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
