This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

As the Speech Pathologist Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in delivering professional speech pathology services to adult inpatients and outpatients, ensuring the provision of optimal health outcomes. Your responsibilities will include demonstrating broad clinical expertise, providing supervision to allocated staff, and offering site coordination and clinical leadership within the team.
About the Role
This role is primarily based at Wyong but may require travel to various other locations within the Central Coast Local Health District.
As team leader, this position is required to demonstrate broad clinical specialty, provide supervision to allocated staff and provide site coordination and clinical leadership within the team.
The speech pathologist will work to deliver high quality care in a dynamic team environment and work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers within the hospital to ensure the development and delivery of effective and pro-active speech pathology services. The speech pathologist will be active in the areas of service development, service evaluation and staff and student teaching.
The position may be rostered across any of the CCLHD facilities and may include weekend/after-hour shifts.

About You
You have:
- Qualifications recognised for registration with Speech Pathology Australia, and a current valid Australian Driver's License and the ability and willingness to travel across sites for meetings and clinical care provision.
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and clinical education, as well as advanced ability to analyse problems, set priorities and apply a range of options to develop solutions with demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement processes and service planning.
- Advanced clinical specialty knowledge and extensive postgraduate experience and skills in the assessment, diagnosis and management of acquired communication disorders and dysphagia in adult acute inpatient and outpatient caseloads, including extensive experience and competency in videofluoroscopic swallow studies.
