At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are seeking an experienced Pharmacist Grade 3 to lead our Aged Care and Mental Health pharmacy services.


About the Opportunity

Based at Wyong Hospital, you will provide clinical leadership and deliver advanced pharmacy services across Aged Care and Mental Health settings. This is a senior role where you will lead by example, supporting and mentoring pharmacists, technicians, and assistants to achieve excellence in patient care and service delivery.

In this role you will:

  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services across inpatient, outpatient, and/or community settings to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Lead, coordinate, and develop pharmacy services within the Aged Care and Mental Health practice areas, ensuring performance goals and targets are achieved.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior pharmacists and pharmacy staff to build capability and foster a high-performing team culture.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to deliver innovative, patient-centred care and promote quality use of medicines.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of medication management.
  • Review, validate, dispense, and check medications to ensure safe, timely, and appropriate therapy while supporting patient flow.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist who brings:

  • Registration as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as well as a current, unencumbered driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the District as required.
  • Significant clinical pharmacy experience with advanced knowledge in Aged Care, Mental Health, or relevant specialty areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience mentoring and developing staff in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage complex workloads.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
