Some of the available roles are maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

Join our dynamic team at Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) as a part time Inpatient Social Worker with Gosford After Hours Emergency Department (ED) and be a crucial part of delivering optimal health outcomes and psychosocial care.
About the Opportunity
The position is part of the Gosford Hospital Inpatient Social Work team based at Gosford Hospital that provides a professional social work service to patients and their family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients consistent with CCLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality care in a dynamic team environment.
In this role you will:
- Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred and culturally responsive social work services to patients and their families/carers.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and provide crisis intervention, brief therapeutic support and counselling.
- Support individuals and their support networks to navigate the emotional impacts of illness, trauma and crisis.
- Lead case planning, advocacy, coordination and referrals to internal and external services.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, senior leaders and service partners to ensure integrated, high-quality care.
- Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional standards and effective communication.
We have both a permanent part-time (19 hours per week) and a temporary full-time (8 hours per week, maternity leave) contract available.
- Permanent: 38 hours per fortnight (19 hours per week) working Friday 1600-2200, Saturday 1600-2200, and on alternating Sundays 0800-1630.
- Temporary: 8 hours per week working Saturday 0800-1630.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number). A demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to Inpatient Social Work. A current valid Australian Driver's License.
- A well-developed understanding of the psychosocial issues that arise for patients and their families during chronic and acute illness and trauma. Preferably demonstrated social work experience in the clinical specialty area where applicable.
- Demonstrated experience in providing psychosocial assessment and crisis management, within person centred, trauma informed and brief intervention models and preferably within a health clinical setting and or within the clinical specialty where applicable.
