About The Opportunity
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Diabetes Services, you will support people living with diabetes through education, clinical care, monitoring, and long-term disease management. This role involves delivering high quality, evidence-based care to individuals with complex or chronic diabetic needs across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
In your role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes, monitor and assess blood glucose levels and diabetes-related complications, administer insulin and other diabetes medications safely and accurately, support patients using insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGM), recognise and respond appropriately to hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemia and participate in care planning, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
You will educate patients, families, and carers on diabetes self-management, coordinate referrals and continuity of care across services, maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, comply with medication safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance standards, practice in accordance with the standards of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and maintain ongoing professional development and mandatory training requirements.
You will be required to travel across all sites Hospital and community centres.
Diabetes experience beneficial but not essential, on the job training and education will be provided.
About You
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
• Recent post registration clinical experience and knowledge of current nursing and midwifery issue in the required speciality
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-focused care, quality improvement, and clinical governance.
