The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Midwife to join our Central Coast Midwifery Group Practice, providing high-quality, person-centred care within a Continuity of Midwifery Care model. This position offers the opportunity to practice across both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals, as well as the community delivering care to women and families throughout the full maternity continuum – from antenatal through to postnatal care.
About the Role:
In this rewarding role, you will provide evidence-based, compassionate care that supports the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of women and their families. You will work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care aligned with individual needs and preferences.
Key components of the role include:

Providing care across the continuum of pregnancy labour birth and the postnatal period, promoting a safe transition to parenting.
- Participating in a structured 24 hour on-call roster three days per week, ensuring timely, responsive care throughout the labour and birthing process.

Performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualised care plans, and managing clinical decision-making throughout the maternity journey.

Supporting emergency and complex care needs with confidence and clinical expertise.

Contributing to education, supervision, and mentoring of less experienced staff.

Actively participating in clinical governance, continuous improvement activities, and the implementation of best practice standards.

About You:
- Current registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proven ability to work effectively within a continuity of care model, including participation in an on-call roster, current competency in venepuncture, cannulation and perineal repair and ability to practice in line with policies, directives and clinical practice guidelines.
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across sites as required
