We have multiple positions available, one of these positions is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

About the Role

As a Registered Midwife in Antenatal Services, you’ll deliver safe, compassionate, and woman-centred care from early pregnancy through to the lead-up to birth. Your role will be integral in supporting expectant mothers through comprehensive assessments, monitoring, education, and planning—empowering women to make informed choices and ensuring the best possible outcomes.

You will

  • Provide antenatal care, including assessment, education and support in both clinic and DAU settings
  • Conduct thorough midwifery assessments and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualised care plan
  • Identify and respond to any changes in maternal or fetal wellbeing, escalating as needed
  • Deliver services aligned with NMBA standards, and NSW Health and CCLHD policies
  • Contribute to a positive and culturally sensitive experience for all women and families in your care

 About You

  •        You have current Registration or eligible for Registration as Registered Midwife (Division 1) with AHPRA and provides evidence of meeting the AHPRA Recency of Practice Standards.
  •        Recent competent clinical experience in midwifery, demonstrating ability to practice safe care in line with policies and directives and clinical practice guidelines. Sound understanding of the ACM Consultation and Referral guidelines.
  •        Recent clinical experience and expertise in acute antenatal care environments, including initiating and co-ordinating appropriate action during obstetric emergencies.
  •        Extended skills, including venepuncture.
  •        You have an understanding of team nursing and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the multi- disciplinary health care team.
