Wyong Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operational Nurse Manager – Surgery, Anaesthetics & ICU to provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of high-performing clinical services.


About the Opportunity

As an Operational Nurse Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager, Hospital Leadership Team, Directors of Nursing and Midwifery, Service Directors and Managers, medical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to influence service planning, performance, change management and strategic priorities

This position plays a key role in providing strategic and operational leadership across Surgery, Anaesthetics and ICU, driving safe, high-quality patient care, service excellence, workforce capability and continuous improvement. In this role you will:

  • Lead high-quality, safe and patient-centred care across Surgery, Anaesthetics and ICU.
  • Inspire and develop high-performing teams, fostering a positive and accountable workplace culture.
  • Drive service improvement, innovation, clinical governance and operational excellence.
  • Build partnerships across the District and broader health system to improve access, outcomes and patient flow.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Current AHPRA Division 1 Registered Nurse registration and relevant tertiary qualifications in health management, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Senior operational leadership experience within a complex clinical or acute healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, build capability and foster a positive, accountable workplace culture.
  • Strong clinical governance, quality and service improvement expertise, with a focus on safe, patient-centred care and better outcomes.
  • Exceptional strategic, financial and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complexity, drive change and deliver sustainable results.
