Central Coast Local Health District is seeking an experienced and confident Senior Occupational Therapist to work within the Complex Discharge Advisory Team (CDAT).

About the Role

Plan, coordinate and deliver high quality clinical Occupational Therapy care to inpatients and outpatients with Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) in compliance with the Occupational Therapist's Code of Conduct. The Level 3 OT clinically supervises Level 1/2 OTs and facilitates the enhancement of the service through leading quality improvement and research activities.

The Complex Discharge Advisory Team will facilitate early identification of patients who might have complex aged, social or disability issues that could impact on discharge processes. The successful applicant will work within the team to provide clinical advice, leadership and guidance to clinical staff who are providing direct patient care, to enable appropriate management planning and discharge of patients with complex discharge care needs. The team uses a Check, Chase, Challenge approach to complex patient management.

  • Well-developed written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal direct clinical supervision, but also effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with the ability to innovatively lead team tasks, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, professional development and research.
  • Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills, independent professional judgement, effective time management and the ability to prioritise workload, with the ability to innovatively lead team tasks, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, professional development and research.
