An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Nurse Unit Manager to join Gosford Hospital in the Mental Health Inpatient Unit Team on a full time temporary basis.

The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is responsible for the coordination of patient services, unit management and nursing staff management within the Gosford Hospital Mental Health Unit, consistent with the strategic directions of Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).


About the Role


The NUM of the Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Gosford Hospital is responsible for the efficient management and leadership of nursing staff and other relevant staff under their delegation and is pivotal in the coordination and provision of timely, high-quality nursing care to consumers. The NUM leads nursing staff, ensures effective liaison between all health professionals and is responsible for the environment and work, health and safety management of the units.

About You

You have:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Extensive recent post registration clinical experience and knowledge of current nursing and midwifery issues in the required speciality.
  • Proven leadership and management skills and demonstrated ability to lead manage and support a clinical team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence based practice and practice development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of budget development and monitoring financial performance.
