Are you a passionate leader with a commitment to Aboriginal mental health and community wellbeing? We're seeking a Service Manager to play a key leadership role in delivering safe, culturally appropriate, and effective mental health services across the Central Coast.

Working in close collaboration with the Mental Health Director, Clinical Director, and Aboriginal Consultant, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, guiding strategic projects, and ensuring high-quality care through programs such as Aboriginal Mental Health Services, Peer Work, and the Wyong Safehaven initiative.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead the planning, implementation, and management of mental health services for priority populations of Aboriginal people, LGBTQI, older adults to improve access to mental health care.  

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the District in local, state, and federal forums, working parties, and committees, strengthening relationships with internal and external partners.

  • Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage the allocated budget, staffing rosters, and ensure the effective use of human and non-human resources.

  • Service Development: Initiate, develop, and manage operational plans, policies, and systems that enhance service delivery and meet the needs of diverse consumer groups.

  • Clinical and Administrative Leadership: Provide high-level leadership in both clinical and operational areas, ensuring seamless integration of services within the broader CCLHD community.

  • Quality and Safety: Lead patient safety initiatives, quality improvement programs, and ensure compliance with external accreditation standards.

  • Risk Management: Oversee the identification and mitigation of risks, implementing strategies and action plans to address concerns.

  • Budget Management: Ensure effective allocation of resources, including identifying funding opportunities to support the development of mental health services.

  • Collaboration: Foster collaboration within the Mental Health Executive and contribute to on-call rosters, ensuring smooth service delivery across the district.
  • Project Leadership: Lead key projects aimed at improving service delivery, supporting students from various disciplines, and ensuring the transition of care from acute to ongoing care.

About You

  • You have a unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence 
  • You have demonstrated experience in policy development, writing briefs and complaint handling and high level of communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access)
  • You have proven previous experience in a senior health operational management or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated high level Project Management experience
