Gosford Hospital is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Speech Pathologist for our Head to Health Kids Hub. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise and make a meaningful impact on healthcare services for the Central Coast community.

About the Role

This position is located on the Central Coast, with occasional travel required across all CCLHD facilities. It is a temporary contract role, lasting until June 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical speech pathology services to paediatric clients, outpatients, and their families/carers, ensuring optimal health outcomes for patients. As a senior clinician, the speech pathologist will be expected to contribute to service and resource planning and evaluation, provide supervision to designated staff, and offer clinical leadership within the team.
 
The speech pathologist will provide high-quality care within a dynamic team environment, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers across the district. They will play a key role in the development and delivery of proactive and effective speech pathology services. Additionally, the speech pathologist will be involved in service development, service evaluation, and the training and mentorship of staff and students.

About You 

  • Advanced clinical specialty knowledge and extensive postgraduate experience and skills in the assessment, diagnosis and management of paediatric communication disorders across the age range and demonstrated experience related to the attached position specific task list.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team with strong time management skills and ability to prioritise complex clinical loads and meet competing demands.
