Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is offering an exceptional opportunity for a temporary Part time Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CN2) to join our dynamic Brighter Beginnings team.

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Specialist 2, Brighter Beginnings Preschool Checks Program, has a recognised clinical speciality in Child and Family Health, Paediatric or Developmental Disability nursing to provide screening, assessment and early intervention services and support for children referred to the Brighter Beginnings Health and development. Checks in Preschool Program in the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) The clinician will provide services across health and education settings within CCLHD.

The clinician provides direct clinical services, coordinates service provision, and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team. The clinician supports capacity building for health and education staff regarding children's health and development and assists with health promotion activities. The clinician is responsible for implementing specific quality initiatives directed by the Brighter Beginnings Manager and in partnership with other staff. Full participation in quality processes, clinical supervision and professional development is an integral expectation within this role. 

The clinician provides clinical services to client groups and will operate in circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills. The clinician is able to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and operate autonomously with minimal direct clinical supervision. The clinician is involved with the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services for their clinical specialty and the Brighter Beginnings Preschool Checks Initiative. They may also conduct clinical research and participate in the provision of clinical inservice education programs to NSW Health and Department of Education staff and students. The clinician may be delegated an operational/supervisory role under the direction of the Brighter Beginnings Manager and may be required to manage specific tasks or projects.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 16 hours per week (days and times negotiable)

About You

  •        You have current Registered Nurse Division 1 National Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), current NSW Drivers Licence, and relevant postgraduate qualifications or extensive relevant experience in this specialist area.
  •        You possess understanding of and experience providing evidence-based health promotion, assessment, prevention and early intervention services to children and their families, particularly those experiencing health inequities.
  •        You have demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development of clinical management plans in consultation with health, education and social services.
