Ready to lead infection prevention at one of NSW's largest regional health districts?
Central Coast Local Health District covers a growing, diverse community across Gosford, Wyong, and surrounding services. Our IPAC team works across the whole network, and we need an experienced specialist to lead it.
This is a senior clinical role with real scope. You will drive practice change, deliver specialist education, consult across multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to research and state-level forums.
You will need:
- AHPRA registration and postgrad quals in your specialty.
- 5+ years post-registration experience, with at least 3 in IPAC.
- A track record of leading change across multidisciplinary teams.
What You'll Be Doing
As Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 2) in Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), you will provide expert consultancy across the district, delivering specialist advice to clinical teams, managers, and executive stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of the IPAC program across multiple facilities.
- Providing complex, evidence-based clinical consultancy to nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- Driving clinical practice improvement through policy development, audit, and surveillance activities.
- Delivering and coordinating specialist IPAC education for the health workforce, including postgraduate program contribution.
- Initiating and disseminating research relevant to infection prevention practice.
- Providing clinical supervision for Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Assistants in Nursing.
- Participating in state and national working parties and contributing to the advancement of nursing practice standards.
