About the Opportunity

As the Category Manager - Strategic Procurement, you will lead the development and delivery of MLHD’s Strategic Procurement Action Plan. Reporting to the Director – Finance & Performance, you will oversee Procurement Governance and Clinical Products Management, acting as the key advisor to the Chief Executive and Executive Team on strategic procurement matters.

You will be responsible for:

• Implementing NSW Health strategic reforms within MLHD 
• Leading procurement planning, sourcing and contract management activities 
• Identifying and mitigating commercial and supply chain risks 
• Strengthening procurement governance frameworks 
• Building organisational procurement capability 
• Managing supplier relationships and performance 
• Representing MLHD at relevant state-wide forums

• Significant strategic procurement experience in a complex environment 
• Strong commercial and risk management capability 
• Advanced analytical and market assessment skills 
• Proven ability to influence and lead change in risk-averse settings 
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills 
• Experience advising senior executives and representing an organisation at a state level
