About the Opportunity
As the Category Manager - Strategic Procurement, you will lead the development and delivery of MLHD’s Strategic Procurement Action Plan. Reporting to the Director – Finance & Performance, you will oversee Procurement Governance and Clinical Products Management, acting as the key advisor to the Chief Executive and Executive Team on strategic procurement matters.
You will be responsible for:
- Implementing NSW Health strategic reforms within MLHD
- Leading procurement planning, sourcing and contract management activities
- Identifying and mitigating commercial and supply chain risks
- Strengthening procurement governance frameworks
- Building organisational procurement capability
- Managing supplier relationships and performance
- Representing MLHD at relevant state-wide forums

- Significant strategic procurement experience in a complex environment
- Strong commercial and risk management capability
- Advanced analytical and market assessment skills
- Proven ability to influence and lead change in risk-averse settings
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Experience advising senior executives and representing an organisation at a state level
