As a Casual Assistant in Nursing within our General Ward, you'll work alongside Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and the multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, high-quality care to a diverse range of medical and rehabilitation patients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your clinical experience in a supportive hospital environment while enjoying the flexibility to balance work with your lifestyle. You'll receive a comprehensive orientation and ongoing support from the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator and experienced nursing staff, ensuring you feel confident and well supported from your very first shift.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Casual Assistant in Nursing, you will work under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, person-centred care to patients within the General Ward.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
- Supporting patient mobility, comfort and wellbeing.
- Assisting with patient observations and promptly reporting changes in condition to the nursing team.
- Preparing patients for meals and assisting with feeding where required.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming clinical environment.
- Assisting with patient transfers and transportation throughout the facility.
- Working collaboratively with Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and the multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Contributing to a caring, respectful and supportive team culture.

About you

Essential requirements:
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing) or equivalent qualification.
