Are you a qualified Carpenter looking for a rewarding role where your skills make a genuine difference? Join our Mental Health Engineering Services team and help maintain the facilities that support patients, staff and communities across Hunter New England.

Based at Morisset Hospital, you'll work alongside a skilled, multidisciplinary maintenance team delivering essential carpentry services across a number of Mental Health managed sites. Every day brings variety, from planned maintenance and repairs to contributing to minor capital works that improve our healthcare environments.

 

About the role

As a Carpenter, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry services that keep our Mental Health facilities safe, functional and operating efficiently.

Your work will include:

  • Building repairs and general carpentry maintenance.
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance across multiple Mental Health sites.
  • Supporting minor capital works projects.
  • Prioritising maintenance requests to minimise disruption to hospital operations.
  • Working collaboratively with other trades and hospital stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate work records and completing work in accordance with relevant standards and safety requirements.


You'll report to the Mental Health Engineer and be supported by an experienced leadership team committed to your success.

 

About you

You're a motivated and reliable tradesperson who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. You communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders and work well both independently and as part of a team.

You'll bring:

  • A recognised Carpentry Trade qualification.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence (or eligibility to drive in NSW).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach with sound initiative.
  • Flexibility to work across different locations and environments.
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

What you'll be doing

Provide carpentry services, including minor construction, repairs and maintenance of fixtures and fittings to ensure minimal disruption to the facility.
