An exciting opportunity is available for a Carpenter to join the Maintenance team at Nepean Hospital on a Permanent Full Time basis.
The successful incumbent will provide hospital maintenance service in carpentry that enables the hospital to perform its core service in medical services to the public. The position is also responsible for carrying out the necessary works associated with new installation and extensions to offices and clinical areas and includes fixtures and fittings as required and to review architectural drawings of proposed NBMLHD projects as required.

What you will bring to the role
- Current trade qualifications in Carpentry
- Demonstrated knowledge of current WHS Act and relevant regulations as well as knowledge of current relevant Australian Standards
- Demonstrated experience and ability with design, build, install and repair of structural woodwork, flooring, doors, locks, ceilings and cabinetry
- Demonstrated ability to be able to read plans specifications and drawings, estimate cost, time and materials of carpentry projects and be able to perform heavy physical labour
- Availability to be on an afterhours call roster and to attend works at the NBMLHD after hours when called upon
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and must be able to take oral and written direction from the maintenance management and maintain a co-operative working relationship with management, other trades staff and hospital staff and maintain the Health Code of Conduct
- Valid current Class C Drivers Licence and willingness to travel as directed
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and computerised maintenance management systems
