About The Opportunity
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Career Medical Officers to join our team and help develop the Anaesthetic Department at Bowral and District Hospital. As a CMO, you will provide high-quality anaesthetic care, collaborate with a supportive team, and contribute to the growth of the department.

What You'll be doing
Provide Clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee. Assist in the provision of the Anaesthetics Department at Bowral & District Hospital through medical management, clinical direction to and collaboration with other Anaesthetics and facility staff, as well as clinical care for Anaesthetics .
The Career Medical Officer provides high quality experienced clinical service to the Anaesthetics Department. The personal development aim is to develop the skills and knowledge needed to operate independently as an Anaesthetics medical practitioner. This can be achieved through structured and supervised observation of, exposure to, and management of patients, as well as participation of Anaesthetics education and quality assurance activities. Providing supervised perioperative and anaesthetic care to patients in the operating theatres, designated sedation/procedure areas, anaesthetic clinic, and anaesthetic consultation service.

Where You'll Be Working
Bowral & District Hospital, located in the picturesque Southern Highlands of NSW, offers a unique blend of rural charm and cosmopolitan amenities. As part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, it has strong connections to tertiary facilities at Campbelltown and Liverpool.
The hospital originally opened in 1889 and has undergone significant redevelopment, with the first stage completed in December 2020. This $123 million redevelopment includes a new Clinical Services Building with a modern emergency department, operating theatres, and inpatient wards. The ongoing second stage will further enhance outpatient services and include a new Aboriginal Dreaming Garden.

1. MBBS or equivalent, current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
2. Minimum 3 years Anaesthesia experience and previous experience in the critical disciplines of Intensive Care, Anaesthetic or Emergency Medicine.
3. Demonstrated ability to work in a complex clinical environment
4. Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, clinical judgement and clinical expertise.
5. Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills in a clinical setting and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
6. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and /or post graduate level.
7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development
