About the location
The Cardiology Unit at John Hunter Hospital is a leading centre for cardiac care and diagnostics in the region. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Physiologist to join our highly regarded and dynamic multidisciplinary team. Our unit plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive cardiac monitoring and diagnostic testing services across John Hunter Hospital as well as multiple HNEhealth sites, supporting a wide range of clinical specialties and patient needs.
About the role
As part of the Cardiac Physiology team, you will work a fixed roster and participate in an out-of-hours on-call service for urgent cardiac procedures. Our team is diverse, with staff across various grades, experience levels, and interests, offering you the chance to explore and develop expertise in all facets of cardiac diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for a range of cardiac diagnostic tests for both inpatients and outpatients, including:
- Electrocardiograms (ECG)
- Holter monitoring
- Exercise stress testing
- Cardiac catheterization lab monitoring
- Follow-up of implanted cardiac devices
Who We’re Looking For:
- Applicants must hold an appropriate degree along with additional education, training, and experience in cardiac diagnostic testing.
- Preference will be given to candidates accredited by the Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists (ACCP).
- Ability to manage and prioritize a high-volume workload confidently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and openness to adopting new technologies.
