We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cardiac Nurse Educator to join our team. This part time position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to high quality cardiac care by supporting nursing staff across the cardiac inpatient unit and the wider cardiac service. As the Cardiac Nurse Educator, you will play a key role in developing capability of the SCHN nursing workforce to respond to current and emerging paediatric areas of healthcare, by identifying opportunities, developing, delivering and evaluating programs and courses for the nursing education service across the Network. The Nurse Educator will be responsible for cardiac education across the Network and will collaborate with various stakeholders who have touch points with cardiac care across SCHN. The Cardiac NE2 is expected to: • Work in collaboration with the Cardiac Services leadership team to identify cardiac education priorities and support the Cardiac Services nursing education strategy for the SCHN • Lead and coordinate the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of education programs across the cardiac service • Oversee the development and maintenance of cardiac educational resources for staff and families and regularly review and update cardiac learning packages to ensure relevance and accuracy • Establish and maintain cardiac clinical competency assessment processes • Participate in SCHN working groups to improve patient care and education delivery • Contribute to the SCHN strategic education plan and develop aligned educational resources • Promote and support compliance with mandatory training requirements for Cardiac Service nursing staff • Lead a culture of effectiveness within the Cardiac Service that encourages reflection, learning and resilience to change • Create and support a multidisciplinary team learning environment across the Cardiac Service • Embed SCHN CORE values into educational practice • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, research, evaluation, and best practice across the Cardiac Service • Role model person-centred care in all educational and clinical interactions • Provide educational consultancy, support, mentorship and leadership to the cardiac nurse education team within SCHN • Provide relevant cardiac education material and programs that incorporate the use of adult learning principles • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development and maintain contemporary knowledge of paediatric cardiac nursing practice • Lead and participate in education committees, working groups, and policy development • Engage in quality improvement initiatives related to education and clinical practice • Contribute to the identification, implementation and evaluation of the SCHN education strategic direction • Ensure timely reporting of key portfolio of responsibility issues or risks to stakeholders • Work collaboratively with the SCHN Nurse Education Manager, SCHN Nurse Educators and CNE team within position portfolio, to develop education that enhances professional practice within the SCHN • Work across SCHN

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant post registration nursing/ midwifery clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs for paediatrics and adolescents within the portfolio or responsibility.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills including the ability to communicate, negotiate and problem solve.
- Demonstrate evidence of the provision of relevant education material and programs that incorporate the use of adult learning principles.
- Evidence of being professionally active within the specialty area of paediatrics and adolescents demonstrating self-motivation along with competence in managing competing priorities to deliver quality outcomes
- Evidence of preparation of written submissions and reports and demonstrated skills in the use of MS Office
