What you'll be doing 
Lead the way in cancer data excellence with WSLHD’s Cancer Network! We're seeking a passionate Cancer Information Officer (RT&D) to fill this temporary role. Guiding a small, dedicated team, delivering vital cancer reporting services that directly support patient care across Sydney's West. Your key responsibilities will include

  • Leading and mentoring a skilled team managing statutory cancer data for key WSLHD hospitals.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely cancer notifications to the NSW Cancer Registry.
  • Drive quality data collection, training, and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians to deliver meaningful, actionable insights.
  • Play a pivotal role in enhancing cancer outcomes through strong data leadership.

Selection Criteria: 

  1. Tertiary qualifications in health information management, management or other relevant qualifications, and/or relevant work experience in a cancer health information management role.
  2. Demonstrate experience in the planning and implementation of targeted staff training and education programs.
  3. Experience in clinical data analysis, clinical coding and report development with the ability to learn and apply cancer coding and staging standards and rules.
  4. Provide an example where you have managed to foster good networking links with internal and external stakeholders to ensure skills and knowledge are maintained.
