About the opportunity
Interested in making the move to a dynamic, commercially-focused role? NSW Health Pathology are looking for a results-driven Business Development Officer to identify new opportunities, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and deliver better health outcomes for clinicians and patients in the community. In this role, you’ll work closely with lab teams, clinicians, and corporate teams to develop and execute commercial relationships, drive service uptake and deliver value for healthcare partners across NSW. This is a job-share role, and as such will involve working in partnership with another business development officer to support key referrers and clients as they engage with NSWHP.

This role is primarily based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, but will include travel to other NSWHP sites and customers. This role is part of the broader NSWHP business development team, which is based across a number of laboratories in Sydney and key regional areas.


What you'll be doing

  • To seek new market opportunities and promote NSW Health Pathology to increase the number of pathology requests received by NSW Health Pathology;
  • To work with NSW Health Pathology customers to ensure their service expectations are being met at all times and that service failures are identified, investigated and remedied, with appropriate feedback provided to the customer;
  • To participate in activities that promote and foster NSW Health Pathology services both internally and externally; and
  • To demonstrate corporate commitment by consistently participating in activities that foster and promote NSW Health Pathology customer service excellence to both internal and external customers.

  1. Proven ability in developing a good rapport with clients and potential clients.
  2. Proven ability to provide innovative solutions to marketing based challenges and demonstrated skills in the formulation of marketing plans and material.

  5. Proven ability to project and promote the image of an organisation as professional, efficient and courteous.
  6. A demonstrated high level of accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive approach to work issues.
  7. Confirmed ability to attend and appropriately represent the organisation at trade shows and other promotional events and activities including out of normal working hours if required.
  8. Current NSW C‑Class driver's licence (P1 or P2 accepted) is required. Interstate C‑Class licence holders must obtain an NSW C‑Class licence within three months of appointment. Learner licences are not accepted.
