What you'll be doing
Provision of planned and corrective maintenance to biomedical equipment & engineering services in health care facilities serviced by Mid North Coast Local Health District in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and standards and in particular AS3551 - Management programs for medical equipment. 
Provide professional advice on biomedical equipment and biomedical engineering services across Mid North Coast Local Health District.   

 

About You

You are a qualified Biomedical Technician with a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent qualifications and experience, providing you with a strong technical foundation in the maintenance, testing and repair of complex electronic systems. Your knowledge and practical expertise enable you to effectively support biomedical equipment within healthcare environments while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and operational requirements.

You possess demonstrated experience working with biomedical equipment in clinical settings and have developed strong analytical skills in fault finding, diagnostics and problem solving across a broad range of electronic and medical devices. You are capable of identifying equipment issues, determining root causes and implementing effective solutions that minimise downtime and support the safe delivery of patient care.

Your understanding of biomedical engineering principles is complemented by sound knowledge of medical equipment multi-skilling practices and the application of relevant Australian Standards governing the use, maintenance and safety of biomedical equipment. You consistently apply these standards to ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance and adherence to best practice.

You are a self-motivated and dependable professional who takes pride in producing high-quality work, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. With the ability to work with minimal supervision, you manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining a strong commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.

You demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, enabling you to build positive working relationships with clinicians, colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders. Your strong interpersonal skills support effective collaboration, technical advice and the provision of exceptional customer service in a healthcare environment. In addition, you hold a current driver's licence and are willing and able to travel as required to support biomedical services across a diverse range of locations.
