What you'll be doing
Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Associate Director Health Services Planning to join our team at Westmead Hospital. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering complex clinical, capital and strategic plans, and contributing to a range of service planning projects across WSLHD.
In this role, you will also support the supervision and professional development of health service planners, fostering a high-functioning and collaborative team. A key part of the role is building strong internal and external relationships across the health sector to ensure effective planning and delivery.

Demonstrated advanced ability to lead, initiate and deliver on significant health service, capital and strategic planning processes, preferably at a Local Health District level.
Demonstrated understanding and application of health service planning guidelines and policies in NSW, particularly those relating to health service and capital development planning and evidence-based models of care .
Demonstrated advanced analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and project management skills including capability to extract, analyse and compile high quality data and information to support decision making and planning processes across WSLHD services and facilities.
Demonstrated leadership experience and management skills in a contemporary health care environment, including supervision and mentoring of staff.
Demonstrated superior interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written skills, with an ability to manage stakeholder relations and consult, influence and negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at different levels. Highly experienced in promoting collaboration and effectively resolving conflict .
Demonstrated advanced organisational skills including highly developed project management skills with experience in coordinating and managing multiple complex projects and meeting deliverables within identified timeframes.
Current NSW driver’s licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications, preferably at Masters level, or demonstrated relevant industry experience in leading and achieving significant health services planning processes.
