What you'll be doing
The Assistant in Nursing provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse that reflects current standards of nursing practices and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.   

About You
You are a caring and dedicated Assistant in Nursing, with a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. Supported by a Certificate III qualification in Health Services Assistance, nursing studies, or equivalent experience, you have developed a solid understanding of basic nursing care and are confident assisting patients with activities of daily living while monitoring and reporting vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.

You are an effective communicator who works respectfully and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff, contributing to positive patient experiences and strong team relationships. Your ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, enables you to support continuity of care and respond appropriately to patient needs within a clinical environment.

Working within multidisciplinary teams, you understand the importance of teamwork, accountability, and following clinical direction to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. You consistently demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt, and support colleagues while providing compassionate, patient-focused care under supervision.

With a strong understanding of infection prevention and control principles, you are committed to maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff through the consistent application of standard precautions. You also possess a thorough understanding of your scope of practice and work responsibly within professional boundaries, ensuring care is delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
