Where you'll be working
Wingham Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for up to 16 patients, plus outpatient and hydrotherapy services, helping people transition from acute care back to home and community. You'll join a friendly, multidisciplinary team taking a holistic, person-centred approach, working closely with patients and families to promote independence and wellbeing. When Wingham activity is lower, you'll gain valuable experience at Manning Base Hospital while staying supported by experienced nursing staff.
About the role
As an Assistant in Nursing - Rehabilitation, you'll support patients with activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Registered Nurses (RNs), helping them regain function, confidence and independence. You'll assist with mobility, personal care and everyday tasks aligned with individual rehabilitation goals, working a 7-day rotating roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts with opportunities for additional shifts. Reporting to nursing leadership, this varied role lets you build meaningful patient relationships while contributing to recovery journeys across both Wingham and Manning Base settings.
About you
You're a motivated, compassionate team player who loves rehabilitation nursing and supporting patients to achieve their best outcomes. You bring reliability, empathy and a positive attitude to every interaction.
You bring:
- Certificate III Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester or trimester of second year), or currently enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diplomas of Nursing (completion of identified foundational units in practice AND 120 hours of clinical placement).
- Experience providing safe, person-centred care under RN/EN supervision
- Ability to collaborate with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Reliability, empathy and respect in all patient interactions
- Enthusiasm for learning and developing rehabilitation skills
