What You'll Be Doing
Join the friendly and supportive team at the Wansey Dialysis Unit in Charlestown, part of the John Hunter Hospital Department of Nephrology within Hunter New England Local Health District.
As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), you’ll work alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses to provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred care to patients receiving dialysis.
You’ll work 10-hour shifts (8:00am – 6:30pm) across Monday to Saturday. A typical day includes:
- Setting up for patients’ dialysis treatments
- Providing care and comfort before, during, and after dialysis
- Supporting nursing staff in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where your teamwork and empathy make a genuine difference in patients’ lives every day. You won’t be alone in this role! You’ll receive hands-on training from experienced AINs, with ongoing guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and Nursing team.
