The Role
We’re currently looking for an Assistant in Nursing to join our team. This position requires the employee to undertake activities for which they have the legal authority and competence to perform (please refer to the Scope of Practice document). The person performing the delegated activity is accountable for his or her own actions and to the Registered Nurse (RN). Supervision means the direction and guidance given by a RN to an Assistant in Nursing (AIN). The supervision may be direct or indirect according to the nature of the work delegated to the AIN.
Our Location
The South Coast Correctional Centre (SCCC) is a 1050-bed facility that houses male offenders in minimum, medium, and maximum-security areas, usually those sentenced locally and/or with family and community ties. The SCCC is in South Nowra, approximately 168km south of Sydney and 5km from the Nowra CBD. The SCCC provides accommodation for inmates as well as services and programs for recreation, education, and employment.
Reporting up to a passionate Nurse Unit Manager, you will work alongside a dedicated multi-disciplinary team comprising of primary care, drug & alcohol and mental health services. Working within a well-regarded clinical care team, you will enjoy the support of a team of nurses focused on providing quality care to some of our society's most vulnerable & disadvantaged.
