Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Assistant in Nursing to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high quality support to patients and work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, respectful, and person centred care.

As an Assistant in Nursing, you will assist with daily living activities including personal care, mobility support, and meal assistance, while maintaining the dignity and comfort of each patient. You will help monitor patient wellbeing by observing and reporting changes, contributing to accurate documentation, and ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment at all times. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues will be essential to delivering positive outcomes and fostering a strong team culture.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Currently enrolled at university as a 2nd year undergraduate student nurse 1st semester
  2. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
  3. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide a person centred approach to patient care
  4. Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal
  5. Previous experience working in an acute care setting
  6. Ability to work a flexible roster
  7. Demonstrated evidence of complying with Immunisation Category A
