Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist

As the Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist, you will work at the forefront of clinical pharmacy practice, partnering with Infectious Diseases, Microbiology and multidisciplinary teams to optimise antimicrobial therapy, improve patient outcomes, and drive stewardship, education, research and quality improvement initiatives across the organisation.

What you'll be doing
The Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist is responsible for leading and coordinating antimicrobial stewardship services to support the safe, effective and appropriate use of antimicrobials across the organisation. The position provides expert clinical advice, drives stewardship governance and quality improvement activities, contributes to education, research and policy development, and works collaboratively with key stakeholders to improve patient outcomes and support compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligible for immediate registration) with no conditions or restrictions on practice and evidence of extensive and relevant hospital experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, interns, Pharmacist, and/or Pharmacy Technicians/Assistants.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in the provision of advance clinical pharmacy services including advance level practice in Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship in a hospital setting.
