What you'll be doing
The position of Allied Health Information Officer (AHIO) exists within the Digital Health Service (DHS) within the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) and Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).This position services all sites within both LHDs (DHS being a shared service) and will require travel across all facilities.
The CXIO suite is the strategic interface with the LHDs and related service providers in relation to business DHS strategy development, solution discovery & relationship management and serves as the partnership linkage between DHS and the LHDs and service providers.
The AHIO is responsible for clinical leadership at an operational level in the development and integration of Allied Health Clinical Information Systems (CIS) that support clinical decision making; implementation of change initiatives and clinical informatics consistent with the goals and objectives of clinical, strategic initiatives and operational plans across both LHDs..
The AHIO is responsible for supporting the operationalisation of DHS plans in regard to the implementation, ongoing monitoring and management of clinical information systems that will assist allied clinicians in the delivery of patient care and facilitates quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice activities.
The AHIO is an operational leader supporting the allied health workforce in the development and implementation of DHS strategy and related plans. The AHIO champions standards and interoperability, incorporates informatics education programs and participates in development of the clinical systems strategy with other members of the NSLHD & CCLHD leadership team.
The AHIO, together with the CXIO team provides operational leadership within Digital Health Services (DHS) to drive clinical analytics that inform and improve training, decision support, clinical workflow and clinical outcomes that assist in optimisation of the user interface of clinical systems, for allied health, nurses, physicians, and other multidisciplinary care providers.
The AHIO, together with the CXIO Suite will also assist in driving workforce development and research capacity in clinical informatics The AHIO will assist the Executive Director of Allied Health to develop, implement and evaluate a clinical engagement strategy in relation to allied health within clinical informatics and the electronic Medical Record (eMR). Opportunities in participating in national, state and local dialogue on digital healthcare.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health clinical discipline, and/or proven knowledge and experience in digital health services especially in clinical informatics, including eHealth, eMR and information management systems.
- Broad clinical and operational management experience at a senior level with demonstrated experience in operational and strategic planning activities and in leading, directing and managing a team with a track record of delivering outcomes and an ability to act as a change agent.
- Well-developed problem solving, negotiation and analytical skills, including demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and provide leadership in professional standards, ethics with a commitment to research and innovation to ensure delivery of outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of principles and processes of change management, issues involving organisational change and an ability to forge partnerships at a senior level both internal and external to the organisation.
- High level of communication skills both written and verbal with ability to write reports, conduct presentations. In addition, computer skills are to be of a level to produce professional correspondence, reports and presentations.
