Where you’ll be working:

An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Allied Health professional to join our Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS) team as the Allied Health Clinical Lead. This position is based in Newcastle and will provide leadership to our DACS services across the Hunter New England region. You will support, lead and role model professionalism and provide expert advice to fellow colleagues.

About the role:

This team is committed to providing high-quality drug and alcohol services to a diverse, and often vulnerable, population. To participate in ensuring this team is moving towards that goal, you will contribute by providing high level of expertise and clinical advice to others, as well as mentoring colleagues on clinical care standards and professional growth. You will also be required to contribute to the review and the development of policies and procedures.

You will be supported by senior leaders within DACS, including the Director and District Manager. Professional development is encouraged, and you will have support to access ongoing education as well as opportunities to collaborate with others.

  • Provide exceptional leadership to service managers and allied health staff

  • Be capable of identifying opportunities for improvements

  • Effectively communicate clinical care standards and ensure they are being met


Requirements:

  • Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer; OR must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist (or eligible for same); OR must hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer; OR be a fully registered psychologist with AHPRA with a Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or other recognised clinical area in psychology deemed relevant to the position (or eligible for same).
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW.
