This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing

The Allied Health Student Educator is an integral part of the multi-dsiciplinary team and coordinates educational activities for students on clinical placement within Allied Health and Integrated Community Services, as well as facilitating and expanding the capacity of the Allied Health professional workforce in the delivery of student programs. Through education, training and support, the Allied Health Student Educator supports capacity building, and achievement of high quality allied health service delivery.

About Broken Hill

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an allied health professional, or tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline and eligibility for membership of an appropriate Australian professional association in the discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in, commitment to and active participation in clinical education of students and graduate staff, including development and implementation of education initiatives.
  • Experience in the ability to design, develop and evaluate innovative service learning models.
  • Evidence of excellent negotiation, decision making and advisory skills including abilities to effectively build and maintain professional relationships and interact collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Able to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgment.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use and knowledge of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidence-based Allied Health education programs.
  • Strong computer literacy with excellent skills in education technologies including web-based learning management systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.
