An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join the Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology Department at The Sutherland Hospital. Approximately half an hour drive south of Sydney, in the suburb of Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital provides a range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.



Where you'll be working
 

You will be working at The Sutherland Hospital with the Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology Department and Southcare Aged and Extended Community Care.

We will require the successful candidate to be available to work, Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's. 

On a typical day, you will primarily be based at Southcare, working within the Community Physiotherapy Team to support clients in completing their physiotherapy programs. Your responsibilities may include conducting home visits to deliver prescribed exercise programs and functional retraining, transporting and fitting mobility aids and other equipment, and assisting with Community Physiotherapy Exercise Groups. There may be opportunities to assist inpatient and outpatient teams as required and directed.

We will require the successful candidate to be available to work,Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's. They will predominantly be working in the Southcare Aged and Extended Community Care at Sutherland Hospital in the community physiotherapy team. What you'll be doing

Provide support to the Physiotherapy team in the delivery of health care services to patients under the direct, indirect or remote supervision of a Physiotherapist and consistent with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District policies, procedures and standards

Selection Criteria:

  1. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent work experience and a willingness to work towards certification with the support of SESLHD.
  2. Proven interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Demonstrate a basic understanding of technology relevant to the work unit and comply with information and communications security and acceptable use policies
  4. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work with minimum supervision, to organise work priorities and manage time effectively.
  5. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles.
  6. Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
