Position Title: Allied Health Assistant (Level 1-3) - The Forensic Hospital, Malabar Justice Health - CASUAL

If you are passionate about delivering healthcare with the greatest impact, then come and join us at the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JHFMHN). We are Just the Place to grow your career and be part of a valued team delivering care where it's needed most!

Be part of a supportive environment, where you can apply your skills to address complex healthcare needs while broadening your treatment capabilities to maximise patient outcomes.

We are a challenging yet rewarding place to take your career even further. With industry-leading safety standards, you can focus on doing your best work alongside skilled colleagues while gaining job training to progress your career.

The Role

The Allied Health Assistant will support the delivery of Allied Health services to patients of the Forensic Hospital, assisting with both clinical and non-clinical tasks under the direct or indirect supervision of an Allied Health Professional. By taking on these tasks, you will give clinicians more time to focus on complex clinical work and improve patient outcomes. We are looking for Allied Health Assistants (casual) to support one of three focus areas: Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Physical Health (including Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Speech Pathology). You will still work across the multidisciplinary team, but you will spend most of your time with the clinicians in your focus area. We'd especially like to hear from people who are studying, or have a background in, one of these fields. Please tell us in your application which area interests you most.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or related work experience and a willingness to work towards certification with the support of Justice Health NSW
  • Previous experience in working with people with a mental illness
