About the role
Are you passionate about food, nutrition, and helping others? Do you want to be part of a supportive, knowledgeable, and dynamic team making a real difference in the lives of patients every day? We’re looking for a Dietitian Assistant to join the Dietetics team at Orange Hospital.

As a Dietitian Assistant, you’ll work under the supervision of qualified dietitians to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nutrition care in the hospital.

For the successful applicant a typical day may involve, visiting patients on the ward to monitor their intake, check their weight or support their food preferences, communicate with nursing and food service staff to troubleshoot menu or nutrition-related concerns, supporting Dietitians by collecting data for assessments and reviews and participating in quality improvement and patient care projects.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in health, food, and patient care, strong communication and organisation skills, reliability and initiative in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a health or aged care setting is desirable but not essential. A Certificate III or IV Allied Health Assistant is preferred.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team including Dieticians, food service staff, nursing and medical teams and allied health colleagues.

You’ll be welcomed with on-the-job shadowing and will receive training and support in our Department technology, policies and procedures. You can expect access to regular support from the dietetic team and opportunities for learning and development through in-services, journal club and other professional development activities.
