About the opportunity

Exciting opportunity to work as an Allied Health Assistant at Mercy Care Centre (MCC), Young, NSW. MCC is a publicly funded rural hospital and community service. As part of a large multidisciplinary team you will look after patients in Transational Aged Care Team (community based), subacute inpatients (rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation and palliative care), adult community and outpatients. Professional development and supervision supported. Subsidised accommodation available and relocation subsidy may apply.

● As part of a vibrant multidisciplinary team Allied Health Assistants support the work of clinicians to provide caring, effective and patient centred care to patients.
● Implement therapy programs, assist with therapy groups, practice patients using equipment and assist cleaning equipment, assist with clinical care (including personal care, showering, domestic assistance and transport), be an integral part of inpatients and community patients' recovery and the smooth running of our services.
● By working within the delegated clinical boundaries you will provide safe and essential care to patients and assist with administrative tasks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

What you’ll bring

You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working in healthcare or fitness industry; and either certificate 3 or 4 AHA qualified, or willing to work towards certificate 4 AHA in first year of employment.

  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve, and manage use of multiple computer systems.

  • A compassionate, helpful, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and willingness to learn and take direction.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.

  • Unrestricted Driver's License
