Newcastle Community Mental Health Service, located at the James Fletcher Hospital site, is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health care. We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. Our service prides itself on a collaborative approach to mental health, fostering a supportive and innovative environment for both staff and clients.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will support the team in providing direct client, patient and consumer care, including assisting with routine evaluations, preparing clients for treatment, and providing information about the service. The role will also involve delivering a range of recreational and therapeutic activities designed to promote mental stimulation, engagement and an enhanced quality of life. This includes assisting with the assessment of individual needs, which will inform the development of appropriate activity programs, as well as supporting the preparation and delivery of therapeutic activities and programs prescribed by an Allied Health Professional, with consideration given to each client’s diagnosis, needs and precautions.

- An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies.
- To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.
