The Role

 

The After-Hours Nurse Manager is a key leadership role within the Forensic Hospital management team, ensuring the seamless operation of the hospital outside standard business hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

This role is pivotal in maintaining clinical and operational oversight, ensuring high-quality patient care, managing nursing resources effectively, and providing leadership during critical situations. The After-Hours Nurse Manager serves as the senior point of contact during these periods, supporting staff and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and professional excellence.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Holds a relevant clinical post registration qualification or substantial clinical educational experience.
  • Clinical experience working within mental health environments.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

 

Our Location, Team, and Service

 

The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional, and high-risk civil patients. 

A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals provide care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.

*A mandatory and comprehensive two-week, full-time orientation is provided for all new staff at Forensic Hospital. All days are paid. The next intake dates are on 26 May and 4 August 2025
