Bowral Hospital are looking to recruit an After Hours Nurse Manager (Grade2). An exciting opportunity to join the AHNM team in Bowral Hospital. 

Do you have excellent interpersonal ,communication and management skills and are looking for a new challenge.

AHNM are responsible for all areas of hospital management after hours inclusive of  patient flow, operational issues and staff management. This role is a great development opportunity giving you valuable experience in management .

What You'll be Doing
The Nurse Manager participates in or is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing services in a management unit, service, complex function or facility to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

Bowral & District Hospital is a level 3 acute bed facility which provides a wide range of services including 24 hour Emergency Department, 2 x Operating Theatres plus a Procedures room, Day Surgery, Endoscopy, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Critical and Coronary Care, Maternity & Paediatrics.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  3. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
