What you'll be doing
As an After Hours Clinical Midwife Educator, you will lead, mentor and develop staff to strengthen clinical capability and promote quality, evidence-based care. Your role will focus on building confidence and competence among nursing and midwifery teams through practical, ward-based education.
Deliver engaging clinical education programs to build workforce capability
Mentor and support midwives to meet competency and professional standards
Facilitate bedside teaching and skills development across all levels of staff
Collaborate with management, educators and consultants to plan and evaluate learning
Promote continuous improvement, evidence-based practice and high-quality care

Essential Criteria:
Current Registration as an Registered Nurse/ Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
A Clinical Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse/Midwife appointed to a position classified as such and who holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer
Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and post registration qualification in the relevant speciality.
Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward or unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborative and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders to provide best practice service delivery.
Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
